Mamma mia! If, like me, you grew up listening to ABBA (and crushing on Agnetha), the ABBA Museum in Stockholm is a must.

WARNING: the pun-phobic should probably look away now.

It makes sense that there’s a tribute to ABBA in the city where the band was formed. And knowing me, knowing you, you should really take a chance and book that ticket. As long as you’re prepared to have those catchy little tunes going round in your head for the rest of the day.

The Neighbourhood

15 minutes’ walk from the centre of Stockholm. And five minutes’ walk from the Vasa museum for any cultural super troupers looking to kill two birds with one stone.

A Good Shout for…

Getting all nostalgic. The museum transported me back to my childhood when my dad would play ABBA records on and on and on. But also having a ton of fun – there are lots of interactive exhibs to get your mitts on.      

The Best Bits

• Sitting in a helicopter that was used for one of ABBA’s album covers and getting that money, money, money shot.
• Getting up on stage and performing with ABBA. With the help of amazing holographic imaging, you can do your best dancing queen (and karaoke sing-a-long) alongside the band. Check out the videos and photos and it looks like you’ve really had a session with Björn & co.  
• Having my mind blown by the high-tech exhibits. As well as all the gold records and memorabilia you’d expect, you can virtually try on ABBA costumes. Or mix original music. The guys behind this place have managed to thank ABBA for the music in incredible, futuristic style.
• Top tip: The winner takes it all (or maybe just gets fast tracked through the queue) when you book tickets online and ahead of time.
