The Place

Claude Bosi at Bibendum is made up of three separate venues – a first floor restaurant, a martini bar and – the focus for this post – the ground floor Oyster Bar. It’s all set within the art deco interior of Michelin House, the old UK HQ for Michelin Tyres built back in 1911.

The Neighbourhood

Close to South Kensington Tube. A short walk from Sloane Square and the designer shops of King’s Road as well as culture vulture haunts like the V&A and the Natural History museum.

A Good Shout for…

A quick, easy going seafood lunch. The Oyster Bar also serves breakfast and dinner. Because service is speedy you can just rock up and get a table without any trouble.

The Best Bits

  • Being blown away by the beautiful blooms at the building entrance. There’s a flower seller’s stall right by the door.
  • Getting that French bistro vibe from the elegant, art deco design and huge open windows.
  • Some of the best seafood in the capital. Cornish crab salad, lobster linguine, moules and fries, seafood platters – everything her is mwah! Oh, and the champagne and cocktail menu makes for a not-too-shabby accompaniment too.
