The Place

Yalla Yalla is a Lebanese kitchen and one of my long-time favourite dining options in London. It's my go-to for Middle Eastern classics. And this place serves them up with passion and style.

The Neighbourhood

Fitzrovia. North of Oxford Street, in so-called Noho. Not far from Oxford Circus and within easy reach of a few other faves – Flesh & Buns, Ethos, Berners Tavern and Circolo Popolare.

A Good Shout for…

Trad-mod Lebanese cuisine in a quirky setting. (Open for lunch and dinner. Make a reservation to be on the safe side.)

The Best Bits

  • Food is inspired by traditional recipes passed down by the owner’s Algerian grandmother. Mezze. Veg, meat and fish cooked on the charcoal grill. Beautiful, syrupy baklava. And, in true grandma style, it all comes in incredibly generous portions.
  • Grandmother’s influence can be seen in the décor too. Everything – chairs, lighting, tiles – is quirkily mismatched. And there’s an eclectic collection of Middle Eastern antiques up on the walls. I love it!
  • Everything is so colourful. The décor and the food, which comes scattered with rose petals and pomegranate seeds. This place is a feast for all the senses.
