The Place

Goodies Amsterdam is one of my old favourites. I’vebeen going back for years and I’d never pass up an opportunity to pay myrespects at this little café restaurant.

Whether I’m running in to grab a coffee and go, or I fancy a sit down lunch, this chilled out place in one of the coolest Amsterdam neighbourhoods is always top of my list.

The Neighbourhood

GoodiesAmsterdam is located in the middle of the historical (and central) Nine Streetsdistrict. This is where you’ll find the city’s famous canals. And an endlessselection of cool hotels (including the Pulitzer, where I stayed), bars, restaurants and cafés.

In fact, because you’re so spoilt for choice in this neighbourhood, Goodies is very easyto miss. So keep your eyes peeled!

An al fresco lunch and a cheeky glass of white wine on a sunny Amsterdam afternoon.

The Best Bits

  • The location. If you’re moseying around the city’s waterways, admiring the architecture and revelling in those hip Nine Streets vibes, Goodies Amsterdam is the perfect place for a pit stop.
  • The menu of healthy salads, hot and cold sandwiches, and sharing platters. The food here is always straightforward but seasonal and super delicious.
  • The people. Service at Goodies Amsterdam is excellent. (I’ve got many a local tip from the guys there.) You get to rub shoulders with the Amsterdam locals. And if you nab a table out on the street, you can indulge in one of my favourite pastimes - some serious people watching.

Goodiesis one of my all-time favourite haunts in Amsterdam. To see more, head to the I Was Here page. Here you’ll discover a roundup of the bestrestaurants, cafés and culture spots in town, all tried and tested by yourstruly.
