The Place - Restaurant J, Stockholm

Restaurant J, Stockholm, is a real-deal design restaurant (and hotel if you’re looking for a room) right on the waterfront.

It’s got a tasteful, marine-themed interior. Think high-end summer house with blue and white striped seats and a few porthole windows. And a menu that still makes my mouth water. Just be sure to order two days ahead if you’ve a hankering for a shellfish platter.

The Neighbourhood

You’ll find Restaurant J in Nacka, part of the Stockholm urban archipelago and most easily accessed via a short, scenic boat ride from Stockholm centre.

Boats regularly depart from Nybrokajen and Slussen and drop you off right on the doorstep of Restaurant J. Or if you’re flash enough to travel on your own craft, give the venue a call to book space on their pier.

A Good Shout for…

Best-in-town seafood. And a breath-taking sea view you just can’t get enough of.

The Best Bits

  • A wonderful, less-is-more menu of predominantly seafood delights. The fish casserole and fluffy pancakes were delightful. A dreamy wine selection too.
  • That view. There’s an outdoor terrace. But even inside, you feel like you’re practically sat out on the water. Beautiful!
  • Supping post-dinner coffee and basking in the sunset whilst waiting for the boat to take you back to the city. I don't think I've ever digested a lunch in a more stunning situ.
