I actually got mixed up about the exhibition I was seeing at Moco Museum Amsterdam. So excitement levels went a little cray cray when I rocked up to find an exhibition featuring some of my all-time favourite artists.

Even if you don’t manage to see the exhibitions I saw, I’m pretty sure that whatever they come up with next will be just as original and exciting.

A modern and contemporary art gallery, Moco Museum Amsterdam is fun, super-Instagrammable and extremely popular. I’d recommend booking ahead online so you can guarantee a ticket and also nab a discount. You can do it here.

The Neighbourhood

Just across the street from the Conservatorium Hotel, Moco Museum Amsterdam is located in the middle of the city’s museum district. The gallery rubs shoulders with the likes of the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum.

The Best Bits

• The building itself. Moco museum Amsterdam looks like a residential home and seems completely out of sync with its surroundings, to the point that it’s actually a bit eerie. Inside, it makes for an interesting gallery experience, with many small rooms dedicated to just one artist.
  
• How many modern and contemporary art big hitters they have on display. Hold on a second while I do some name dropping. Banksy. Daniel Arsham. Warhol. Damien Hirst. Dalí. Jeff Koons. And not just one or two works. A huge selection of art by these artists (and more).
  
• The sense of fun you get at Moco museum Amsterdam, both inside and out. It’s unique, quirky and playful. And a breath of fresh air on the Amsterdam museum and gallery scene
