Tofu Ryori Sorano is a vegetarian and vegan restaurant in Tokyo, specialising in – you guessed it – tofu. It’s a tiny, traditional Japanese place where my tall Hungarian head kept butting the rafters. But that’s all part of the fun.
It’s not the kind of place you stroll past byaccident. And the door is unassuming – literally just a white curtain withJapanese writing on it. But this was one of my favourite Tokyo diningexperiences and definitely worth tracking down.
Inthe Shibuya District. Ten minutes’ walk from Tokyo’s epicentre and that world-famous,crazy-busy road crossing.
TofuRyori Sorano sits right next to the train tracks on (there’s no getting awayfrom it) a dodgy looking road. But remember that Tokyo is the safest place onearth and this area is just a little industrial. So don’t be put off walkingdown and discovering this hidden gem.

A traditional Japanese dining experience. And more tofu than you can shake a stick at.
