The Place

Johan & Nyström is a concept coffee store. The guys behind this place live, breathe and (obviously) drink coffee. They have a small chain of four cafés throughout cool areas of Stockholm.

The Neighbourhood

Close to the shopping district in Norrmalm and 15 minutes’ walk from Gamla Stan. Also just around the corner from another of my Stockholm coffee faves, Kavalleriet.

A Good Shout for…

A quick coffee stop in between shopping or sightseeing.

The Best Bits

• The design. It’s typically Scandi – natural, organic – but it also has this cool futuristic feel.
  
• The cut-above coffee. The stuff they serve here is delicious. But as much as I love (and I mean, love!) coffee, Johan & Nyström’s loose leaf teas are also something special.
  
• The knowledge. Everyone who works here loves sharing coffee info and gets a kick out of introducing customers to exciting new roasts. In fact, they even have a mini classroom on site for barista and coffee tasting training.

(One thing to note – They don’t take cash here, justcards. It’s the same with many places in Stockholm so keep the plastic handy.)
