Posada Margherita is run by an Italian family. So you can expect authentic Italian flavours at this beautiful, laid back restaurant on the beach.

A simple menu of classics hasn’t changed in the decade I’ve been going back there. But why fix something that isn’t broken? The food here never disappoints and I'd happily eat there every day of the week.

The Neighbourhood

Slap bang in the middle of Tulum Beach Road and close to many of the area’s top hotels.

The restaurant is part of the Posada Margherita Hotel (my absolute favourite) and a few of my other Tulum haunts. Tunich Café and SFER IK gallery should definitely make it onto your list.

A Good Shout for…

Breakfast, lunch or dinner (or just a cocktail) with an Italian flavour and a sea view.

The Best Bits

• The beachfront location. Sitting at a table on the beach (all of the tables are on the beach) with the sand between your toes and an incredible view of the Caribbean Sea is just bliss.
  
• How fresh the seafood is. If you happen to be there at the right time of day, you’ll see a guy walk up with a spear full of seafood. Someone from the restaurant will come up and select the fish they want. And then it’s cooked and served to a table before you know it. Incredible!
  
• Getting pizza delivered to the beach. There’s a little mini pizzeria at the front of the hotel, serving the most delicious pizza to eat in or takeaway if you don't fancy the full restaurant experience.
